Complete List of Winners of Bb Pilipinas 2011!

Congratulations to Bb. Pilipinas and ABS-CBN for a spectacular Bb. Pilipinas 2011 presentation at the Araneta Coliseum! The set design was a big winner – metal comb-like decor hanging everywhere, shades of blue dominating the backdrop and a revolving stage reminscent of old school beauty pageants!
Wonderful hosts – Miriam Quiambao and Lara Quigaman (whose first gown was a carmine creation with some silvery peek-a-boo action going on). Derek Ramsay sizzled and got more applause from the audience than any of the girls (LOLOL!). KC Concepcion was fresh-faced and utterly lovely but unfortunately her first gown was just not elegant enough for something as grand as the Bb. Pilipinas beauty pageant. Not entirely her fault though… someone should have given her more detailed information on the gown code! Her second gown (which she wore too late) was miles better – a blue beaded number.
I am VERY satisfied with the winners – Shamcey Supsup, who won the Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2011 title, was my choice from the get go. I had the pleasure of a long conversation with her Mom and her Tita Joanne during the victory party at the Oasis in Gateway Mall. Apparently, Shamcey Supsup’s family goes to the same church I used to go to – Victory Christian Fellowship!!! We are sisters in Christ 🙂 how awesome is that?
I also got to chat with Isabella Manjon – although she was not in my final list (can I just stab myself with a 5-inch stiletto?) I am glad she got the Bb. Pilipinas Tourism title because she really stood out during the show. Also, up close, she is beautiful! I was surprised to find out that we had worked before together on a project – I hosted a party for Globe and she happened to be one of the models in that event. In our short tete-a-tete, Isabella Manjon told me that although she models on the side, her real profession is nursing and that her heart is in the medical field.
Dianne Necio, for me, is the lady who deserved her title the MOST! After landing 1st Runner-up last year she decided to join Bb. Pilipinas again this year and FINALLY her childhood dream came true – she is a beauty queen (at last!) and will get to represent the Philippines in the Miss International 2001 2011 beauty pageant. Dianne Necio also had the best winning reaction – even Krissa Arrieta, who crowned her, was in tears! And when they hugged I could feel waves of relief and gratitude radiating from them.
While I am happy for the winners, I am sad for those who didn’t make it. But I am a firm believer that losing is a part of life – we win some and we lose some. The real champions are those who get up, dust themselves and move on to the next thing. So to all the other Binibinis, you are beautiful and wonderfully made so keep on shining!
Congratulations to Madame Stella Araneta, Liliana, Carmela, Gus and the rest of your team for A SUCCESSFUL pageant and thanks for taking care of all the former beauty queens; we appreciate your hard work to make the Bb. Pilipinas the most prestigious beauty pageant in the Philippines!

P.S.
In the last two years, the Filipina delegates had the best top five answers, unfortunately they didn’t have the “right” answers that appeases “political correctness”…my response, is WHO CARES…these ladies stayed true to their personal convictions and expressed themselves well…Mind you, Miss Philippines was the only one that DID NOT need an interpretor! Kudos!
The Philippines is definitely back as a pageant power…Good job Shamcey! Keep it rolling… To the BB Pilipinas organization, continue to send dark skinned round-eyed Malay (Venus Raj, Gloria Diaz) or mestisa Filipina (Margie Moran, Shamcey) contestants, as you did the last two years! They embody FILIPINA “island” beauty…Do not send “tight eyed- yellow skinned” delegates that look like Kris Aquino. China made it to the top 5 to satisfy “political” correctness. She looked like YODA on stilts! Angola is a Portuguese speaker and is an extention of Brazil-Portuguese axis. Brazil made it because it was the host country. Only Philippines and Ukraine were “pure” top five delegates…Politics rules, but the Philippines is back!
To the BB Pilipinas organizers, yes this is true. In this year’s pageant, politics determined the winner. Hence, of the 89 delegates, ONLY three nations were Portuguese speaking contestants; 1) Brazil, 2) Portugal, and 3) Angola. ALL three made the top ten, two made the top five (Brazil and Angola) and one was crowned the winner (Angola)! Donald Trump is a world renowned businessman which is why China did well (don’t want to bite the hand that feeds you…in times past it was Japan and India but they are going through economic trials!). Miss Philippines and Ukraine had nothing to do -or to gain- with politiking thereby were the REAL winners and should have finished 1-2. However, you organizers have brought the Philippines back into the scheme of pageants. I always believed the Philippines had the potential to be the “Venezuela” of Asia because they provide more than “one” standard look. Excellent job to the past two Filipina delegates.
While I believe pageants are less political today than they were before, you have given me much to think about today…. I like the way u analyze things…
please! portugal was way prettier than phillipines, she deserved to be on top 10! people from the whole world voted on her. Shamcey is a plain jane compared to the other girls, but she went too far in the competition due a lot of hype from her homecountry, lucky girl. Angola was the best, deal with it, she has simplicity, something that the other girls lacked of. This whole politics talk is just a bad excuse that bad losers cling on to make themselves feel better. Your miss lost because she wasn’t good enough, MISS Angola was simply BETTER. That’s all.
Thanks for your comment Angola is a deserving Miss Universe and she was my Top Choice among the African Queens… While I respect all opinions, please be gentle with critical observations, this place is like my living room and all of you are my guests. Respect is something I expect from visitors who come to my home, thanks guys!!!

oh btw, maski na gaano pa katalino o sumacumalude, top priority pa rin sa internatinoal pageants ang sex appeal na wala si Ms Supsup. Period. hindi importante brainy kaya nga tinawag na “beauty’ pageant eh.
I most definitely agree that that’ what it takes to win. They look at your vital stats and not your IQ. That’s why I suggested in this article that SHamcey not focus too much in showing her top rate intelligence and instead be like a butterfly and imagine that the people around her are flowers in a garden (hehehehe… that is literally a flowery description…).
But for me, life is bigger than a pageant and it’s in the best interest of all beautiful women to develop their brain power so that when they relinquish their crowns and their youth, they have something solid to hold them through life.
Miss Joyce, you have to realize Shamcey Supsup is beautiful in our standards but ugly or plain Jane to the rest of the world especially the Latinas. She will never make it, Miss Joyce, I’m sorry, they shoud have picked Luzelle Felipe or MJ Lastimosa instead.
Hi there, thanks for your comment, I edited it because I have a comments guideline. This blog was set up in support of Filipina beauties whether pang-international or pang-local. With or without sex appeal. So I will always support the Philippine candidate. But I do respect people’s opinions too and enjoy the conversation swirling around SHamcey Supsup. If you wish to make stronger comments, this is not the blogsite to make them. But of course you can always share contrary opinions here basta give them respectfully, thanks Pyongyang…

Hi Joyce!
It’s all over the net now! How true are the rumors that Bb. Pilipinas-Tourism Isabella Manjon will be our country’s rep to Miss Supranational? Has this been confirmed already by BPCI?
So far, Supranational is the only Grand Slam (as per Global Beauties) pageant where we still don’t have a delegate.
Any truth to Ms. Manjon competing in this pageant?
Thanks!
Chi, I heard about this even before Isabella won. That Supranational was being considered. Hmmm… I am betting it is true. Will try to find out though because i could be wrong…
I forgot to commend ABS CBN for the good presentation. KC and Dereck are good. Miriam maraming mali mali. Lara nabubulol. Swimsuit segment, very fresh. Evening gown maganda rin at fast phase. I love it when Sam and Mateo serenaded the Queens. Honestly, I never noticed the ‘Poon’ like hair of Venus. I enjoyed the show kahit na 5:30 AM GMT na ito natapos.
I also enjoyed ABS-CBN’s presentation of the BB Pilipinas, the stage was AMAZING! Much much better than last year’s setup ha. The only thing that irked me was the dirty audio of each candidate during the swimsuit portion. THey recorded thier short comments in a place that had lots of background noise and in Araneta Coliseum, dinig na dinig yung background noise sa mga recording. BUt over-all I can’t complain much because it was fresh and yet familiar. Like as if they rearranged the furniture but everything is still the same. NICE!
I have nothing against this years Grand winner Bb. Pilipinas Universe Shamcey Supsup (Grand winner kasi wala namang relevance yong ibang title like Bb International at Bb Tourism) but the organizer and the judges should have selected somebody who could win in an international event. I admit that Shamcey’s academically prepared but Miss Universe is a beauty pageant to a quiz bee. Ilang cum laude at taga UP na ba ang naipadala ng Pilipinas sa Miss Universe (Licaros, Andam, Alagao) but they all ended up as clappers sa backstage.
God willing Shamcey will break the jinx of Cum Laude’s and UP grads na sumali sa Miss Universe.
I don’t think naman there is a jinx. Maybe kasi if you are a brain, your tendency is to be brainy. But if you really use your brains then you will focus more on improving your walk, your posing, your smile, your fitness because that’s what they look at naman in Miss U. So i would suggest that Shamcey learn how to speak with that sexy sultry feminine style and try not to sound too brainy but not sound bobo either. Isa sa pinka-important IMHO is to master the art of smiling (gorgeously) while talking. It is difficult for those not used to it but with training it can be done. 🙂
I think Shamcey has that smile. Good luck na lang sa kanya! can’t wait for another Miss U from the PH.
I think on sheer beauty alone, Shamcey is already a cut above. I’ve seen her homecoming video, she is stunning. The brains and personality are bonuses.
SHAMCEY SUPSUP: Beauty, Brains and Beyond
By ARIEL ALLERA
A beauty-and-brains combo can be quite challenging to find among pageant contestants. More often if a candidate is too pretty, her I.Q. (Intelligence Quotient) is hardly high enough to finish the sentence and bring to the table. There may be others who are blessed with a little bit of everything — lovely face, smooth skin, curvy figure, height of five-feet-seven or better, or just enough guts to say something during question-and-answer.
But if you’re judging a beauty contest, and there’s one girl onstage standing before you, alongside her equally gorgeous fellow contestants, and you knew that she graduated with Latin honors and she was a board topnotcher, why would you have to look around and find someone else?
This year, our country has chosen its national queen whose charm is as unquestionable as her wit. Recently crowned Binibining Pilipinas – Universe 2011, Shamcey Supsup has proven a woman’s worth by defining beauty at par with brains.
She’s not the first title-holder who has graduated Magna Cum Laude (from the University of the Philippines-Diliman), but her placing first in the 2010 Architecture Licensure Examination is what makes most of us hold her in higher esteem — than winning that coveted crown of the night. In a country where kids are told to study hard as soon as they start going to school, Supsup will serve as a role model for young girls out there who want to make a stride into the world of pageantry.
While most national beauty contests require girls to be at least high school graduates who are between 18 years old and 25, a completed undergraduate educational attainment will still be the best preparation, let alone weapon.
Not only will it have molded their minds, thus making them more confident throughout the competition, from pre-pageant interviews to the final question-and-answer in the coronation night, it will be easy for the winner to fulfill her duties and responsibilities during her reign. And then, she can pursue her long-term dream, be it in show business, or in the corporate world, or in the medical profession. It depends, though, on the girl’s physical potentiality, experience, exposure and mental preparedness. Mutya Ng Pilipinas 1993 Michelle Aldana was still studying Speech and Drama at the University of the Philippines-Diliman when she joined the pageant. Her stunning stature, smart spontaneity and fresh Filipina beauty won for our country the last Miss Asia-Pacific title.
Supsup will be competing in the Miss Universe pageant come September, to be held in Sao Paulo, Brazil. There’s no question to the way former Miss Universes have been selected, but almost always the Miss Universe Organization is hounded by controversies about their basis for selection of the semi-finalists. Many pageant experts and analysts have wondered how come that lousy lady from Europe made it to the semi finals, while this elegant lass from Asia barely did.
It goes without saying that results are always unpredictable and that we can only expect the unexpected. However, as soon as the semi-finalists start strutting their stuff and pivoting their way onstage, we cannot help but notice one or two finalists looking so out of place in swimsuit and in evening gown. Our country has sent sexier and prettier delegates to all international beauty pageants out there, but to no avail. We might as well support someone like Shamcey Supsup whose resume is as eloquent as her personality, a representative who can interact well with her co-candidates, the press, the sponsors, the organizers, the bigwigs as well as the locals of the host country.
Never mind the Final Question segment, for we cannot blame delegates who answer in their mother tongue. Intelligence is not measured by someone’s command of English, in a country where they’re using their native language as medium of instruction. But if we talk about a non-English speaking finalist’s gist in her answer, only the interpreter can admit to either translating her thoughts as is, or glossing over its content to make it sound more sensible.
And if, God willing, Shamcey Supsup brings home the crown this year, then she will be the next brainy Miss Universe since India’s Lara Dutta clinched the title in 2000. Otherwise, she will always be a full-fledged, one-of-a-kind icon of beauty and brains, born to be our country’s cream of the crop, donning the sash as the Philippines’ most beautiful woman, wearing the medal for being the most intelligent architect around.

Thanks Ariel, that is a lovely piece introducing us to our beautiful new Bb. Pilipinas Universe! Mabuhay ka!
Dear Joyce,
I’m glad you accepted my comment. I’m one to always make sure I say everything; hence my very long write-up. I love pageants, and I thank you for your support. God bless you always.
Hi ms. Joyce! Bb. Pilipinas 1st runner up, Janine Tugonon goes to Victory Ubelt 🙂
Oh wow thanks for the info! Are you her friend?
Filipina,,,THE BEST!!! Kongrats!!! Gudluck!!!
hi, ms. joyce, my friends call me veshamsush, i guess it’s quite obvious that my name derived from the first syllable 2 former beauty queens’ name and the other one from the newly crowned miss u rep. hahaha… anyway, i became your instant fan after browsing and reading the articles that you’ve posted. i find the site amazing. the choice of words manifests the real and true blooded beauty queen. keep it up madam. looking forward for more interesting articles.
this year’s batch of binibini was great. it was a tough competition. i have a strong feeling that an international crown will be in store for us…mabuhay ang binibini….
Wow I love your name. Pag nagkaanak ka yan ang name niya ha? Hehehe… Thanks for enjoying my blog, I enjoyed reading your lovely comment!
Joyce, thank you for posting our photos in your website. Nice write up. It was nice siting beside you in the pageant. You practically knew all the candidates and their back ground. I will sit beside you again next year. Love your website!
Hi Chiqui 🙂 it was wonderful sitting next to you and your lovely daughter 🙂 but hope to see more of you in between pageants!
Hi! My name’s Lorraine and I am currently writing about the pageant for the Philippine Online Chronicles’ Beauty and Fashion channel. (http://thepoc.net)
I would like to ask permission to borrow some of the photos in this post so I could include in the article. I will credit you if you permit 🙂
Thank you!
Sure you can borrow photos but please link back to my blog, that’s more important to me than mentioning where the photo came from. Thanks!
the winners are deserving! i hope they represent our country well! congratulations!
I totally agree with ur choice. Either Shamcey or Al Tawil would be a good candidate. The candidate must be tall smart and pretty they have different aura. Al Tawil is shy looking and her answer to a very good question I think cost her the crown. To the Shamcey bashers sorry but she is really the next most qualified. MJ and Parcia are both pretty and great sexy bodies but they lacked the height bow if they are 5’7 at least then it would be a different story. For Diane I like her determination pero I think this year is ore competetve and there are a lot of other better choices to send to Miss I like Tumulak or MJ or Quennie
Haaaaay, I don’t like bashing. It’s a sign of a bitter and mean spirit. Giving your opinion respectfully though is a different thing and I am glad that you shared your thoughts without bashing anyone! Salamat 🙂
Hi Ms Joyce- dont you think its a bit unusual for the Best in Swimsuit and Best in Evening Gown not to be included in the final 5? From what I remember- the past winners of these awards almost 100% makes it to the top 5 even top 3
but I have to agree- Ms Supsup is a great choice 🙂 I just thought the Reham or Luzelle would get one of the crowns
Yes i was thinking the same thing too! While it seems to be a tradition for the winner to also hold the best in long gown or swimsuit award, I’m okay with the distribution of awards in the 2011 Bb. Pilipinas pageant. 🙂 Luzelle is not a waste, even if she didn’t get a title it’s okay, give her a year or two to blossom further and get more training and I think she will be a formidable opponent!
A lot of sentiments for Luzelle 🙂 her handlers knew how to work that “tricycle driver” turned into a swan story — I actually totally buy it- and really love to see her again in the future….
But I have to give it to Ms Supsup 🙂 she is actually the perfect prototype of a Bb winner–and a perfect role model for all Filipina. Hope she brings home the Ms U crown for all of us….
To be honest however- I feel its a little too unfair that Ms Supsup, who can very much claim to be the smartest, can rightfully claim now to be the most beautiful too 🙂 hehehehe good luck Shamcey
Yes, its not fair!!! Ahahaha!!!
Congrattulations Ms Universe Shamcey! You deserve the title… Hope u can make it on the International Competition. Goodluck!
Hi Ms. Joyce,
It was so nice meeting you last night. So glad for Dianne Necio.
hi there I recognized you on the spot ! It was so cool!!
not as cool as meeting another former binibini.
LOL! You’re my darling!
Hi Miss Joyce,
Where can I email you? I need to ask you something off topic
Thanks
LEX! Email me at jaedeelight@yahoo.com mwah
i already emailed you na po. thanks
sana ung first runner up ang nanalo..(janine tugonon) deservibng syang manalo, FILIPINA BEAUTY,BRAINY PARANG MIRIAM AT PRECIOUS NLARA ANG DATING!
Thats your choice pero mas marami mas maganda at well deserving kaysa sa favorite mo, parang nakatsamba nga lang ksi she looks ordinarily pretty woman….
Hi Paolo, Shamcey Supsup won fair and square and I disagree with you that she looks like an ordinary pretty woman. All the contestants are beautiful and special whether or not they win a crown. I am sorry your choices did not win. HOping that next time you comment you will be kind to the contestants and the winners because I do not allow bashing here. Please read my guidelines for comments – http://adventuresofabeautyqueen.com/guidelines-policies-on-comments/
You can go to the forums if you want to put down people.
//FINALLY her childhood dream came true – she is a beauty queen (at last!) and will get to represent the Philippines in the Miss International 2001 beauty pageant.// — pakiedit po. 2011 po yan….
Thanks laboyboy! Will fix it 🙂
@ Brandon : I agree with you. Of all the candidates, Lucille has the most potential of winning in an international beauty contest. That is judging on how she thought of her answer cosidering that she came from a very humble background. The judges seemed to have been impressed by long answers by the others. I consider brilliant the way she was able to put in a few but very meaningful words what her thoughts was.
Yes Luzelle did a good job in the Q&A and I am expecting to see her compete again!
Hi there!
Very nice detailed post.
I just want you to know that I used your photo of Binibining Pilipinas 2011 winners in my blog and it was properly acknowledged.
More power and thanks. 🙂
I’m so proud of Shamcey Supsup….GenSan’s Beauty Queen!
What do you think of Luzelle’s answer? I thought she stood out and had a very good answer. I’m fine with Shamcey winning i just thought Luzelle deserved a top 5 placement
I thought Luzelle performed excellently… she took home two special awards including the much coveted Best in Long Gown. This is definitely not that last time we will see this girl compete. With more training and exposure, Luzelle will be a formidable opponent…
Luzelle was quite solid with her answer and I am very proud of what she has been able to do with herself knowing her background of poverty and hardship. I think we need to find more pearls like her…
She was featured on Manila Bulletin online along with the the set of winners. She and the winner Shamcey was interviewed over the phone and Luzelle said that she would not join any pageant next year. However she is thinking about joining when she’s in her 20s and she wants to try her luck in BB PILIPINAS again. I guess she wants a Miss Universe title, which I have no problem of. She plans to take some type of english language course because she admits being weak in her “grammar.” I can’t wait to see her again. Good luck and more power to her
Yes, I saw the photos on the papers yesterday but was SO busy I could not read the articles. Luzelle has time on her side since she is young. And it’s a good idea for her to work on her English Language Skills 🙂 Just like you I am very excited to see how far Luzelle will go!
Yes 🙂 thats good news
I love Luzelle’s answer in the pageant- and its a bit disheartening to look at former Bb. Pilipinas winners laughing at her (they were focused during the telecast) after she gave an answer. They, of all people, knew the pressure of giving a smart response while standing in front of millions tsk tsk….
😦
miss joyce super project din po kayo sa tv last night which is very good di kumukupas ang pagiging beauty queen nyo.
so happy with the result shamcey was my bet for universe!
I know! Super project talaga on purpose 🙂 thanks for the comment shamcey was also my big gest bet from the first time I saw the initial top40!
congrats to our very own Mary Jean Lastimosa…wer so proud of you….
Hi there! great photos u have! By the way, who were your pick last night?
I have a list of favorites in previous posts. But from the very start shamcey supsup was my choice for any of the titles!
bakit hindi bb. Pilipinas World? instead, naging Bb. tourism?
does it mean wala taung representative sa Miss World 2011?
miss world’s franchise in the phils is now under miss cory quirino. We definitely will have a miss world phils this year!
