Mutya ng Pilipinas Announces its Metro Manila Screening Dates for 2014!
The Search is on for the 46th Mutya ng Pilipinas Crown! Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014, Metro Manila Screening will be on June 21 and 22, Saturday and Sunday, 1-4 pm at Sequioa Hotel, Mother Ignacia Ave., Quezon City. For more details please visit their website http://www.mutyapilipinas.com
After scouring the provinces for possible beauties, Mama Renee Salud focuses her sights on Metro Manila lasses who are dreaming of the beauty queen life. The screenings are happening this weekend and I hope to be there to help choose this years’ crop of official candidates.
Last year was a bumper year for Mutya ng Pilipinas with their two winners performing well in their respective international pageants. Koreen Medina was 3rd Runner-up and Queen of Asia/Oceania in the Miss Intercontinental 2013 while Angeli Dione Gomez gave the Philippines a back-to-back win when she nabbed the main title of Miss Tourism International 2013/2014.

What title(s) nalang ang paglalabanan sa Mutya ng pilipinas? nasa bb pilipinas na kasi ang intercontinental crown.
I’m so sad for this pageant which was at its peak in the 80s. Remember Carines Zaragoza, Bong Dimayakyak, Sarah Jane Areza, Sherry Rose Byrne, & Lorna Legaspi. It used to be the biggest rival of Bb. Pilipinas but started to decline in the early 90s and it’s going nowhere. Lesser titles, mediocre candidates, wide sashes, big crowns, poor productions, etc. Huh! Revamp, revamp, revamp PLEASE! Ms. Joyce tulungan mo si Renee Salud and the owners/organizers of this once-loved and admired Philippine beauty pageant. Maawa ka please.
Hi there, if I may add to my previous short answer, I think Mama has his own vision for the pageant and in a few ways my ideas clash with his but I won’t go into details. I don’t think I can get deeply involved if we don’t see eye to eye on certain key things. However, I am involved with the screening and that’s the most I can commit at this point. Tho we have disagreements, we remain the best of friends…
Hello, i want to make it clear lang po. pwede po bang sumali jan ang mga single mother? since single and never been married lang naman ang nakalagay. 🙂
OOnga ano? But I doubt they allow single mothers. I got this list from the official website of Mutya…
I hope they can allow single moms 🙂 if that happens, Mutya will be groundbreaking…. separating itself from the other national pageants
Anyway Ms Joyce, Mutya used to hold the franchise for Ms Globe which would be a nice replacement for the Intercon title…. I hope they can get the franchise for Ms Globe because there are more than 100 girls listed in their site already confirmed to compete…. it would also be a nice addition to the Tourism International
Well, it would be hard to do that kasi the international pageants they send their winners to dont accept mothers. So it would be futile to accept moms…. I do know that Mrs Globe Phils accepts single moms so there’s an avenue for them there… 🙂
Hmmm parang the other Ms Russia (beauty of Russia- ME Russia) pageant 🙂 they allow single moms to join….. if the winner is a single mom- the runner-up is sent to the international pageant (if she is not a single mom)….
Might be ok for Russian culture pero malabo sa Pinas yan mangyari… but i see your point, i just dont see Filipino pageants going for that as of now… but thankfully the stigma of single parenthood is limited and single moms can walk unashamed and make a difference in their spheres of influence…
